Autogyro Insurance Requirements

There’s a problem in the event of the hull damage. A claim on the insurance here obviously incurs an excess to pay. If you are a student – if you have NOT got your Gyroplane licence yet - they want £4,000 as an excess. When you’ve got your licence this reduces to £2,000. So we’ve covered this problem as best and as cheaply as we can.

If you have an accident which requires that we must approach the insurance company, we would have to ask you for £4,000 if you were flying solo or £2,000 when you've got your licence. However, you will have paid us for the share and this amount will temporarily be taken from your paid-up share.

When the aircraft is repaired you will be allowed to continue flying for a reasonable time until you’ve re-paid this amount.

Any repair cost would currently be around £22,000.

This is WHY we HAVE to have insurance in place and paid for….. however, it’s a risk that we have to take and we do NOT expect you to incur any insurance claim whilst flying with us.
